Mason Jar Pumpkins!

Well it's Fall here in Virginia. That means out come all the decorations.
This year I decided to make some easy projects so Princess A can help me.
This is what I came up with after looking at these ideas over at
Not So Idle Hands

Now before I start, I haven't seen anything like this out on the web but that doesn't mean its not out there somewhere.

How to make
Mason Jar Pumpkins
You need mason jars and lids
water
food coloring
fabric for the top.

1.)First thing I did was get my Princess A to help me pour water into the mason jars.
2.)Then I added food coloring according to the chart on the back to achieve the color Orange.
3.)We place on the lids and then she proceeded to shake it up with one hand (she broke her right arm)
4.) Next we put them on the table and I went to go through my stash of fabric in hunt for green stem looking material.
5.) Next I sewed up a piece to place around the top like a rubber band would go.
And there done!

Getting ready for school!

Well tonight was the first night in Our getting ready to go back to school routine. It went better than i expected it to. Even though there were a few bumps in the plan. Now just to find my routine.

Just started the P90X challenge!

Well today was the first day of My husband and I's P90X challenge. To be totaly honest I was scared to start this workout program. I have heard nothing but good things about this program but was worried that it would make me so sore i wounldn't be able to move.

But we shall see soon enough!

Yesterday was wash for everything I had planned to do. But it sure couldn't be helped. Our Car decided not to start yesterday morning. We had to make other arrangements for my Husband to get to work. Thank goodness it's a short walk to the bus stop for my son. Well here I am with everyone off to where they needed to go and I'm tasked with trying to get a car to the dealership to be looked at. Well let me tell you that were an adventure all in its own, with the rain coming down.

At least all that it needed was a new battery!

Needless to say after all that, it was fixed and we now have a car again! Yay!

Getting back into the groove!

Oklahoma City on Fire!

Well we had lots of wildfires today in the Metro area and even more all over the state. That sucks, BIG TIME! Here is a local tv station and the local newspaper links to check it out.

Today we also installed our outside speakers.

I was worried about my friend who lives in Choctaw Ok. Where they had a major wildfire. I hope she's ok and her property too. I am also sending out prayers to all those families who have been affected by the wildfires.

I had a Homeowners Assocaition meeting tonight as well. When I left the table was rightside up with a 20 lb bag of rubber mulch on it. When I got back it was turned over and a table leg was missing. We had about 60 mph winds tonight.

Hope tomorrow is better!

Today I made my son some Sopaipillas! Sopaipillas are fried dough that puffs in the center and you roll them in cinnamon sugar and drizzle with honey. He had seen them on his favorite Tv Show Handy Manny, He also got one when we went to Lupper (which is late lunch and supper) with my Sister, Brother in law and mom last Sunday.

Today we bought Bedtime Stories and Tigger and Pooh Musical Too! Hope there good. Who knows when we will get to watch them.

My Son got a new car today as well. Forget the Hot Wheels cars! My son loves the Disney Cars cars.

Before Hubby had to go to work we went to Steak N Shake. Normally its good food. But today we got the Snack Pack and it was a little bland......go figure!

Here are some finished projects we did recently, and also some upcoming projects we have in mind.

These are the new speakers we bought to put outside in the Backyard. That way I will have some tunes to listen to while Gardening. Way to go Honey!

These are the surround sound speakers we installed in our house on Saturday after we finished building the garden box.

And a Happier note! This was my two kids earlier this morning being Mickey and Minnie Mouse. Since we got the mouse ears everytime they watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on Playhouse Disney, they have to wear there ears.

My son was chasing my daughter in the house while bouncing on his bouncy ball calling her Minnie....It was so cute!

What happend to Spring weather!

It was in the mid 40's today so outside garden work was out of the question. Especially with the wind chill. So we ran errands this morning since hubby is getting ready to deploy soon and this afternoon I did some Unfinished Projects such as My mom's unfinished scarf that she was to recieve for Christmas 2008...... Yeah I know she can't use it in spring but at least she will have it in time for next winter.

We got our Disneyland Photo Cd today! Even more great picutes of us in the Magical Kingdom. Like the 800 I already have on my camera weren't enough we had to go and buy the cd with an additional 150 pictures on it. Oh well! It was the best 9 days at Disneyland so far! I am still happy with them all.

Here is the Herb Garden that's on my Kitchen counter. I love this Prepara Garden its so easy! I have yet to use the herbs as they have just sprouted. But I can't wait.

These are my tomato plants that are waiting to get bigger to go outside in the garden. And for the weather to stay Spring Like and not all Frosty!

These when the sprout will be my jalapenos and bell pepper plants to go outside. If the weather will stay sunny and warm. What a great day we had today. We also took the kids to the Chick fil A to play today too! I wonder what tomorrow will bring?

Back to the Daily Grind.

Well here we go! I'm back to the daily grind of life. I got busy last spring and forgot all about my blog. But I'm looking forward to writitng again.

This is what we did this weekend. I built a raised garden bed in my backyard. Of course it wouldn't have gotten done if it wasn't for my dear hubby who built it with my help. I dug up the grass and laid out the area I wanted the garden in.

Now my next step is to turn up the clay and make it some what smoother and move it around the edges of the box and put down a weed block tarp.

The next step is to put in soil and add my plants. Our family is going to plant the following food.

Tomato's, Garlic, Onions, Strawberries, Bell Peppers, Jalapeno Peppers, Lettuce, Chives and Pumpkins. This is going to be a blast!

My son needed a new booster seat cover! He also loves the Disney movie Cars! All i did was took the old one off and traced it onto a brown paper bag and cut out a piece of material and some headliner. I added pit stop ribbon to the sides and used elastic to the front and back so it will stay put. He loves his new car booster seat now!
